Hi Everyone - I kept getting a word today - I feel like I can't go to bed until I share it. I am way behind because of a computer problem today and I need to pack for Florida, but I feel it's urgent for someone - probably more than one person.
One of the definitions of Savior is Rescuer. Jesus is wonderful
(I sent out a whole 3 page discourse on who Jesus is last week. Please
let me know if you didn't read it or you lost it). But Jesus is
Savior, Redeemer, Healer, Deliverer - and of course much more.
But did you think of this? He is your rescuer and He
saves you from your troubles.
Are you in a hole or in a place where there seems no way out?
Let me tell you about the rescuer.
In Psalm 107 It says this ( talking about a storm)
"They cried out to the Lord and He saved them from their
troubles
And He stilled the storm.
and calmed the waves
And it was quiet and they were happy."
I don't know if you are in some kind of storm - But He is able
to calm the storm. He spoke to the storm and said, "be still. And it
was.
If you are in a place where there seems no way out - "Ps 108:
3-6 - "listen"- the angel says 'listen"
"Lord I will sing songs of praise to you among the
nations,
Your great love reached to the skies
Your truth to the heavens,
God you are supreme above the skies
Let your glory be over all the earth
Answer us and save us by your power
SO THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU
WILL BE RESCUED"
Yes He is the rescuer. The key is that you listen and let Him
show you the way - because there is a way.
One time, years ago we were in a fix ( I can't remember what it
was all about now) and we didn't know how to go forward or how to go
back - we were trying different doors but nothing seemed to be
working.
I had a dream and in the dream I was sitting on the floor in the
middle of the room. It seemed like an empty room with no furniture.
It was black and I didn't know where the door was. I could see no
exit because it was so dark. I know I could have felt my way all
around the walls until I somehow found a door handle. But I felt the
Lord said "Sit still and see."
I sat in the room on the floor and just waited and suddenly a
light shone on the door. I got up and walked to the door and opened it
and went out...
He was the one who rescued us - He shone the light on which way
to go and what to do. You can do trial and error but that's not
God's best way- There is a way if you wait ( in faith) on Him.
He will rescue you, He can speak to the troubled waters and tell
them "peace." The peace is first IN you- like the situation in
the jail where Paul and Silas were imprisoned.
The Christians prayed for their release and God did release - an
earthquake. The jail was rocking and rolling and the earth was
shaking. But in the middle of all the shaking Paul and Silas weren't
shaken. That's because they were in the shaker ( God). You can't be
shaken if you are in the Shaker, can you?
In fact they led the jailer to the Lord in the middle of an
earthquake... They didn't run and panic like everyone else, they
stood still and ministered. A shaking just shows where you
really are.
I often think of the miners in Chile. They were stuck a mile
feet below the surface of the earth. There was NO WAY THEY COULD GET
THEMSELVES OUT. They were totally dependant on others.
Two prayer meetings a day -and the GOD of heaven and earth
rescued them.
There is no way that anyone could say it was not miraculous. But
Jesus the Lord of Life was able to keep them and RESCUE them from
their trouble.
You know when Jesus was laid the tomb He was totally dependant
upon the Holy Spirit to raise Him from the dead. If the Holy Spirit
had not come to raise Him up He would still be in the tomb. I don't
know if you have ever thought about that.
That's why He is able to rescue you if you sit still and let His
peace be IN you in the middle of the storm.
"THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE WILL BE RESCUED" Ps 107: 6
He is the one who can deliver you. Show you the "exit," Rescue
you- if you (as God said to the Moses) "stand still and see the
salvation of God."
